Auto Disputes

NCDS has administered automobile manufacturers' warranty arbitration programs since 1995. The disputes are those arising between a manufacturer and an individual consumer regarding an alleged defect(s) in the material or workmanship of the consumer's vehicle. Typically these disputes are those which occur within the duration of the manufacturers' warranty period, unless another time period is set by a particular manufacturer or state. The methods of resolution are mediation and arbitration (binding and non-binding).

Panel Development

  • Starting with highly qualified professionals, our panel is required to go through in-person new arbitrator training, which takes place over a three-day weekend.
  • If they succeed in our rigorous training, they are invited to become a panel member and are available to begin hearing cases.
  • An active panel member is then required to attend a refresher weekend training course in person, every other year.
  • On the off year that a panel member does not attend in-person training, they are required to take our refresher training through our online Learning Management System.
