The NCDS National Panel of Dispute Settlers

Since 1979, NCDS has trained over 3,000 dispute settlers. We provide comprehensive training based on an intense, “hands-on” approach in which each step and technique of a process are practiced. NCDS recruits our Auto Warranty Dispute Panel from the ranks of auto mechanics educators, technical inspectors, and experienced dispute settlers from other industries.

During the training, the NCDS staff monitors new candidates’ progress to identify those best suited for dispute resolution work. Following a rigorous program in which each candidate participates in a series of role-plays, we require the candidates to complete an arbitration decision at home which NCDS staff reviews for quality and format.

After the training, our case administrators carefully monitor the initial cases submitted by new dispute settlers and discuss the Agreements and decisions with them to assure their understanding of both process and content. NCDS management removes dispute settlers who are unable to attain a consistent level of quality from the Panel.

NCDS conducts periodic refresher training classes in different regions of the country to update our dispute settler Panel on legal changes, warranty information, and new dispute settlement approaches.

NCDS believes that training and monitoring of dispute settler performance lead to continual improvement in results and enhanced customer loyalty to manufacturers.
